Welcome to The Ambassador City Centre Hotel, located in the city centre of the picturesque Haarlem. Our hotel rooms are developed in monumental buildings, where the historical appearance and nostalgic character of the inner-city are beautifully reflected.

On this mobile website you will find all the information you need to make your stay in our hotel and city as enjoyable as possible. Besides this folder, you will find our tourist information folder at the lobby, which contains information regarding museums and all leisure attractions of Haarlem and its surrounding areas. You are situated close to the world famous Teylers Museum, the Frans Hals Museum, and many unique boutiques, cosy café’s and restaurants.

Looking for somewhere to enjoy your afternoon or evening? Then our Grand Café The Governor is the place to be!
The restaurant is located next to the reception of the hotel. You can enjoy your time sitting in the sun at our heated terrace, or inside our charmingly modern restaurant.The atmosphere is beautifully designed for you to relax and unwind with great food and a variety of signature cocktails.

With our specialised international food menu you can be sure to enjoy your visit, whether it is for lunch, dinner or some light snacks. The Governor will be happy to welcome you. Walk-ins are always welcome or you can reserve your table with our receptionist.



At the front office you can request a baby cot. There are no extra costs for this request.


At the front office you can buy dental kits which includes a toothbrush & toothpaste, shaving products, manicure sets, shoe shine kits and sewing kits.


The costs of the breakfast are € 16,50 per person per day (only on reservation until 23:00 the day in advance).
Breakfast is served in restaurant The Governor, besides the reception.

On the day of departure we ask you to hand in the room key before 11:00 at our reception. Would you like to depart after 11:00 or extend your stay in our hotel, please contact the front office.

Late check-out: €15,- per hour till 14:00.
After 14:00 you’ll pay for an extra night.


We accept Visa, Eurocard/Mastercard, American Express and use maestro debit cards.


In case you are in need of a doctor or dentist, Inform our reception staff. They can assist you with making an appointment.

Would you like to check in earlier? You can book a guaranteed early check-in from 12:00 for €15.

Through reception you can ask for an iron and board. We will bring the requested items as soon as possible to your room.


All found objects are collected by the housekeeping department and registered at the front office. We store all findings for three month.


When necessary you can store your luggage in our luggage room free of charge.


Because of our unique location we are not able to offer our own parking facilities. We recommend parking in the parking garage De Appelaar or
De Kamp. Detailed information about parking is on our website.

All rooms are equipped with a safe for securing your valuables. The safe can be found in the closet in your room or under your desk. The ­manual can be found on the inside of the closet door or next to the safe itself. If you have problems with the safe, please contact the reception.


Smoking is prohibited in all areas and rooms of the hotel. In case smoking is detected, a fine of the minimum value of € 150 will be charged to your account because of extra cleaning. It is also ­prohibited to remove, or mask, the smoke ­detector. The hotel receives a notification if the smoke ­detector is removed. If detected a fine of the ­minimum value of € 150 will be charged to your account.


The Ambassador City Centre Hotel has a contract with “Onze Taxi Centrale” which includes, fixed prices to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and other rates. To reserve a taxi contact the reception.

The television in the room is programmed according to this Dutch region. However it includes several channels in other languages. Besides that, a number of Dutch channels play English shows and programmes in the evening.
